Through experience, we've found this structure gives us the best opportunity to absorb the rhythm, language, personality, and intent behind the words already written, and to return the manuscript with substantive, meaningful improvements.
Final Refinements
The finishing touchesToward the completion of your project, any final refinements, adjustments, or finishing touches are billed at our hourly rate. This ensures you only pay for exactly the time needed to bring your manuscript to its best.
This stage covers final proofreading passes, minor structural tweaks, last-round consistency checks, and anything else needed to ensure your book is truly ready.

No two family histories are ever the same — missing records, incorrect information, changing surnames, and international ancestry all influence the journey. Some stories can be uncovered quickly, while others become fascinating historical puzzles that require detailed investigation. We love every minute of it.
To ensure we can dedicate the time and expertise needed, our research is conducted in 10-hour blocks — providing the best opportunity to properly establish lineage, identify research pathways, and begin uncovering the stories hidden within your family history.

Some family histories may only require one block, while others may evolve into a far deeper and more extensive exploration depending on your goals. We'll give you a clear expectation during your discovery call.
Research can include birth, death and marriage records; immigration and convict records; land and property records; military service files; archive photographs; and international records for families with ancestry outside Australia.
Research Wrap-Up
Final findings & completionAfter the bulk of the research is completed, we move to an hourly rate to tie up any loose ends, verify final records, and compile your findings into a clear and complete family history report.
